In 2003 when I found out I was pregnant, I was also made redundant from my job, so when my Son was born I wanted to look after him but also do something other than just be Mummy. I had been making jewellery on and off through out my life but had never tried silversmithing, how hard can it be I thought, turns out to be reasonably easy.
My home studio is also the kitchen table!!! All jewellery is hand made entirely, i.e. no electrical tools involved!
I may invest in a polishing wheel sometime as hand polishing takes ages, but it is very relaxing.
So, I taught myself and am still learning and probably will still be learning new techniques in 20 years time!!
I started selling on EBay and wondered about getting a web site of my own, so being the sort who likes to do things myself I built my own site using FrontPage. The site has been running now for just over a year.
I love gems and crystals, the look of them, the feel of them. Their energies are amazing and what better way to display them is in jewellery. I also love jewellery and love making it. I am getting addicted to buying beads and always looking out for the unusual.
I live in Scotland with my son Connor, and 3 cats Finn, Obi and Polly.
The name The Jewellery Witch came from my making jewellery and also being a Witch, following the path of Wicca.
